National Equality March – Message from Lt. Dan Choi

Official Website: www.nationalequalitymarch.com Facebook Fan Page www.facebook.com Twitter: www.twitter.com A message from Lt. Dan Choi about the National Equality March on Washington, DC on October 10-11, 2009: “My name is Lt. Dan Choi, and I’m calling on all veterans, past and present, straight and gay, black and white, women and men, to lace up your boots again and March with us in Washington in October. March for equality, march against discrimination, march together. Join me. March.” On October 10-11, 2009, we will gather in Washington DC from all across America to let our elected leaders know that now is the time for full equal rights for LGBT people. We will gather. We will march. And we will leave energized and empowered to do the work that needs to be done in every community across the nation. Our single demand: Equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states. Our philosophy: As members of every race, class, faith, and community, we see the struggle for LGBT equality as part of a larger movement for peace and social justice. Our strategy: Decentralized organizing for this march in every one of the 435 Congressional districts will build a network to continue organizing beyond October. No, God almighty will not allow me to debase the code of conduct for a military US fighting man.
I have to stand for morals, strength, honor and the UCMJ.
I cannot bend or bow, for a immoral agenda,
Gays will have to stand on that one by themselves.

i totally agree with Brad and Topdog. the “leaders” are totally wrapped up in their own little LGBT world and don’t see the gay grassroots community against the countrywide daily religious poison antigay hateposts at youtube. and btw who are the initiators of the March? i don’t see names, faces or bios. and where are the NatlEQMarch admin here??? last login: one week ago!

“HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM. DO YOU READ ME?”

  12. BradGoesGay Says:

We support the National Equality March and
call for a new gay grass roots movement in all Congressional Districts. But we demand open democratic structures and nationwide meetings to establish a legitimate leadership by election.

40 years after stonewall, it’s time to stand up for a new NATIONAL LGBT MOVEMENT!

Why we should follow the same LGBT leaders whose strategies of movement are responsible for the clash of civilization between the USA and Canada/Europe concerning gay equal rights?

  13. NYtoppdogg Says:

WOW! this Lieutenant rocks!!! more of these gay soldiers and we’ll win the battle against the democratic Congress and that Democrat in the White House!!!

I’ll be in Washington – we need more than a march. We need new, young LGBT leaders like Dan Choi and we should blow away and retire the old LGBT FAT CATS in DC and everywhere! They’re just worried about their career and are totally out of touch with young gays in the US. WE ARE ANGRY, WE WANT TO TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE STREETS TILL WE WIN !!!

  14. mrbudster Says:

  15. lloydbaltazar Says:

This straight Canadian mom is going to be joining the march! I’ve been following your story Dan, and this weekend thought of you a lot. I have friends who had official orders from the Canadian Military to attend the Pride Parade on Sunday as marching members of the Armed Forces, they even had a recruiting section at Pride. I wish you well on Tuesday, you’ll certainly be in my thoughts.

    See you in October!

  17. watchdoza Says:
